London Gets 1st Walk-in DNA Testing Clinic

investigation, the field of genetics testing is now becoming
more available to the public. Easy and affordable paternity
and sibling testing is now within reach for anybody who needs
it, whether individually, or for courts, immigration or solicitors.
This kind of genetics work is another example of how accessible

About Market Factors
Over the last few years it has become clear that the need
for DNA testing has grown across the UK, especially in the
London. There are many reasons for this growth. Between 1991
and 2001, births outside marriage grew by 11.25%. This supports
the growth of maternity testing as a birth outside marriage
could mean that the father of the child is unknown. There
is also evidence, gained from the report in the Scottish Daily
Records in October 2002 that more young men would have a paternity
test if a woman claimed they had got her pregnant.
Another factor that is effecting the growth of paternity
testing is the increase in single and lone mother families.
Single parent families are no longer seen as abnormal in our
society and with the traditional 'nuclear family' becoming
less heard of many children are growing up without knowing
their biological fathers. In the early 1970's, fewer that
1 in 12 families with children was a lone mother. By 2000
this number had almost trebled to 1 in 4.
All of these factors have contributed to make genetics testing
a hotspot in the area. The founder of DNA Bioscience, Avi
Lasarow, reaffirms how accessible DNA testing has become;
"DNA Bioscience is able to perform highly specialized
testing at very affordable fees because of a highly efficient
laboratory. You can rely on your results from DNA Bioscience."
He goes on to add; "We feel that London is an area that
would benefit from having a genetics testing service available,
especially to the general public who may not have considered
such action in the past. With our research we wish to give
people the chance to make important decisions in their lives."
